Take a deep breath of high-altitude air with "Refuge under Cloud Kissed Skies." Inspired by a three-week artist residency in Leadville, Colorado, this painting captures the humbling scale of the Rocky Mountains.
During that October, I was struck by how the massive peaks were suddenly dwarfed by the sheer volume and movement of the "Goliaths in the sky." This piece focuses on the immense, rolling clouds as they sweep over a solitary mountain cabin, offering a sense of quiet sanctuary amidst the wild energy of the atmosphere. Of all the works created during my time in Leadville, this remains my personal favorite for its capture of light and celestial scale.
