I challenge myself to paint scenes of the Kansas Flint Hills a couple times a year. I usually submit one or two pieces to Buttonwood Art Space's annual Flint Hills themed show. It's a challenge to find a worthy focal point in the expansive grass and sky. But more often than not, I find the clouds to be perfect muses.
